- The softcover version of this book is fabulous. The hardcover is smaller and the print is really too tiny. It was simple to exchange. Many of the salads contain only vegetables and fruit, i. e., no nuts, cheese or processed meats, so I'm really excited to make some salads that don't have as many calories as a regular main dish!
- I was surprised to see on that no one has reviewed this book yet -- it's probably because it was published in the UK and may not be easily available in the US.
I have just wrapped it as a gift for my spouse (who has become very keen on plant-based nutrition). I'm very glad that it will stay in the house as useful reference and inspiration for both of us.
This is really a fantastic book -- both in terms of content and print quality. It's a large format 256-page softcover printed on glossy, heavy paper (feels very sturdy). There are over 500 beautiful colored photos that accompany each salad recipe. Recipes are very easy to read.
There is a tremendous variety of salads for every occasion (including elegant, holiday meals) -- salads as appetizers, as side dishes, as main course, or as desserts (fruit salads). There are warm salads, cold salads, vegetarian salads, meat salads, seafood salads -- and also a section on creating your own dressings and dips.
Just going through this book is a pleasure. It has occurred to me that one could eat nothing but salads from this book, and you would not feel deprived -- it's all great and very healthy food.
