The Antarctic Forgery Dan Kotler Kevin Tumlinson 9781386325796 Books Reviews

  • I really, really loved this book!!! It's definitely my favorite Kotler thriller so far. The other Kotler books were excellent, but this one is non-stop, roller coaster thrilling!

Archaeologist Dan Kotler; his FBI agent friend, Roland Denzel; and Gail McCarthy, Kotler's nemesis and former lover, are again entangled in a search - this time for a map of Antarctica, a map which may or may not be a forgery.

Once Kotler and Denzel reach Antarctica, the race is on to find a hidden location. Gail is never far behind Kotler, so he and Denzel know they must hurry.

What they find is a well-hidden historic site with a myriad of surprises. Gail and her band of killers find the location not long after Kotler and Denzel. You won't be able to put this book down!

I highly recommend this book, as well as Mr.Tumlinson's other archaeological thrillers. While some characters overlap, each book stands alone.
  • I simply love this series! The characters are realistic, the dialog is believable, the action is fast, thought-out, and well written, and the story is just factual enough to be believed. I recommend reading the entire series, but with the limited background provided, it is possible to get the gist of the back story. I can't recommend this book and this series enough! If you like fast action coupled with a good story and great characters, then this series is for you!
  • This is the fifth adventure for Dan Kotler and Roland Denzel. If you haven’t read any of them, the earlier nov sleep help explain the relationships between the various characters. There is plenty of action, and lots of twists, all often unexpected. The main characters have developed and are very likable. I look forward to the next book in this series.
  • I love the Dan Kotler series and I love Tumlinson's writing. I preordered this book-what a surprise and disappointment!
Tumlinson has demonstrated such greater capabilities. This installment is rushed with only superficial treatment of Antarctica or the details surrounding the story. Worse, it seems a race to the "endnotes" for a haphazard explanation of the story and a mini-comparison of writing styles with that of King's "On Writing." I hope this is a blip on the radar and the next Kotler adventure is more in line with Kevin's true capabilities.
  • I just love The Dan Kottler series. Enough real history and geography to be realistic but with plot twists and hidden clues to keep you engaged. Like most of Kevin Tumlinson’s Work, I don’t put it down till I reach the end! An excellent read!
  • Kevin Tumlinson is one of my favorite authors for his archeological thrillers with well developed characters and world wide adventures. The books are very well written and absolute page turners. I highly recommend reading all of his books.
  • Another great book by mr. TUMLINSON! Dan Kotler and DETECTIVE Densel are great partners. Their wit ( just enough, not over done) and sarcasem is great. The history and story fits perrfectly, bring on Book#6( March 5,2019).
  • I don't know how to describe just how amazing this book is!
All I can say is that if you don't read this book, then, it will be a huge loss!
