One Rental At A Time The Journey to Financial Independence through Real Estate Michael Zuber 9781793142207 Books Reviews

  • I have known the author Michael Zuber for several years and he was a mentor to me as I started my rental investment journey. Starting with our first rental we quickly expanded to four and are now in the process of selecting a fifth property. There are a number of resources out there when it comes to investing in rental properties, but to be frank, some of these resources can be less than trustworthy as they may have less than ethical goals of getting you to invest in some sort of scheme. Zuber is the opposite of this, he genuinely wants to help people understand how to invest in rental properties to help build semi-passive income. I say "semi-passive" because Zuber is very clear that building a rental portfolio takes work, but illustrates how to go about doing it so that your efforts lead to a second income that you control. If you are thinking of investing in rental properties I highly recommend this book as it will save you quite a bit of time and headaches, as you are learning from a seasoned expert and the real-life examples provided throughout the book help drive the concepts home.
  • The perfect companion book for those beginning their real estate investment journey! Zuber invites readers into his personal investment journey that brought financial freedom. Written as a narrative instead of “how to” or ’10 steps to” readers are invited to come alongside Zuber’s journey and pick up gems of knowledge. His cover-to-cover honesty demystifies the investing process and carries readers from “I want to…” to “I can too” perspective.

Zuber’s passion to positively impact investors is tangible throughout allowing readers to feel coached vs. criticized. Despite having a set plan in place for investing my ideas were productively challenged and in some cases shifted. He often tells people on his YouTube interviews he’s “excited to see the next step”; we’re equally excited to see your next step because it will be great!
  • Mike does an excelent job of laying out a plan that takes into account a practical approach to finacial freedom for the working professional. His story shows how making a good living is not the goal, but rather leveraging that income into true wealth and independence. He does this by laying out some basic ground rules and real life experiance that is easy to follow and practical.

Its refreshing to read a book that is not written as an introduction to an expensive real estate program that you need to purchase to get the real "secrets". Mike layes it all out there to make it work.

    Great read.
  • outstanding book that provided a step by step plan to financial freedom!

Michael did a nice job laying out the entire book that allows the reader to understand the entire process including how to find the property, the one percent rule, avoiding alligators and key notes on financing assets.

This is an excellent book! I highly recommend you get a copy to read and another to give to a friend.

  • Michael Zuber writes clearly and passionately about an arena in which he and his wife have worked to become very successful real estate investment. This book functions as a beginners guide for novice investors who already have full-time careers but are excited about all the possibilities of reaching financial freedom through buy-and-hold real estate. The thing that makes Michael stand out from the pack of YouTube real estate advice-givers is his authenticity. His YouTube videos, like this book, have no fancy frills meant to mislead, no promises of overnight enrichment. He's just an honest person who's very good at what he does and wants to pass along the knowledge that has lead him to success. Pay the few dollars for the book, reap the benefits of a trustworthy advisor and become inspired to take your first step into real-estate investment.
  • I was one of those busy professionals who are constantly thinking about putting their cash to work. However, I didn't really had a solid strategy to build assets over time that pays for itself and most importantly allows me to have a full control over my investment.
I started to follow Michael's YouTube channel 3 months ago and read this book on a long flight.
This book has transformed the way I look at financial freedom and has significant positive impact on my goals for 2019.
The one aspect of Michael's journey could have been explained little more is the financial research including numbers, metrics, tips and tricks applied to stay in the game during the crash.
May be that is a second book you are thinking about!
Dare I say, the timing of the 2nd book couldn't be better!
THANK YOU! for everything you do in this field for your followers, Michael.
  • I love the stories of the challenges Mike went through in getting started. He offers a lot of great insight into the pitfalls and joys of real estate. His experience in this field is helpful in deciding if I want to take the plunge or decide the risk is not for me.

The exercise he lays out to get started is a great first step in identifying if the market you are interested in investing in makes sense or you should look elsewhere.

I am inspired after reading this book to start exploring my market and see if this makes sense for me to pursue. It really made me think about shifting my investment strategy from the stock market to real estate in which I believe I would find more interesting.

Excellent read for anyone considering real estate investment and the challenges of building your portfolio.
